Agility Equipment, should I buy it?
Tess asked a question about purchasing agility mats, which got me thinking. I go to training classes every Sunday with my dog, it was for a time but to break up the training we take them in agility. Spike picked it up very well, and although we only training once a week, he was actually quite good. Now, he had a gun and dog that is what he loves. Give her command and she's off hunting, He loves it when I get out of the doll of training and gve him the 'find' this command. But it is not obsessed with agility. I am very pleased with the promptness and love to try it on my mutt (I do not class him as we tried and the atmosphere just is not right for him) but I must buy some equipment?, to improve my Springer? Or is it meaningless?
Well seeing as you said spike "was not wild about competency" then I think you should definitely Herbie try it (?). We do not take Tess to the class as it is just for fun. Be warned though, this is addictive! This creates an even further bond with your dog and it was great fun for both of you. I really like it and Tess was always really excited when I get outside the tunnel or poles. Depending where you get the equipment, it is not all that expensive, however, these sets can be costly (eg barrier, tunnel, weaves poles, and A-frame in a set can starting from £ 130). I would definitely try it with your silly and if you want to give wings aa go! I start with something too big just incase he did not sharp, I started the "Tunnel collapsed" and Tess loved it. There is a fun & good luck if you decide to continue!
