Becoming a Dog Trainer?
I'm looking into doing dog training as a career. Does anybody know of the qualifications I would need and where I can study in the area of South East London/ Kent. I am not looking into online and distance learning courses as I find it difficult to learn that way.

I work for Guide dogs for the blind. Our trainee guide dog trainers, when being interviewed, are required to show dog handling skills, the ability to provide and demonstrate basic obedience, confidence even if dog is being naughty. They are the best place to go to learn how to train dogs and you do not need to have a large amount of animal experience to get on the training scheme. Its all about levels of confidence and patience. Get some voluntary work in a kennels or similar, ask working trainers of you can go out with them to learn some skills voluntary. Build up a knowlegde and then apply for GDB. Good luck
