How do you know if a site that sells stuff is legit or not?

I'm looking for a particular movie, which came a time longggggggg ago, sometime in 1971. Its called The Doberman Gang. A movie about some doberman dogs trained to rob banks LOL - "back then" movie It was a big hit, and me being a Big Dog lover, you'd think it'd get my business to see the movie when it came out but I do not seen it. NOW I want to see it really bad but cannot find the movie anywhere. I did a search online and came up with this site with the movie on DVD (if how they can have a movie on DVD when DVD's will not back then?) - I'm a bit "not" in-the-know, so can anyone help me out here? so I dont send my $ 12 - $ 15 and not get what I'm trying to pay for? How do I know if the site is legit? (I dont want to go on ebay) http://missedmovies.com/order/product_info.php?products_id=53

... Unfortunately, the film has yet to see official release on DVD, and only a couple of movies Doberman Gang 's' '70' really see videotape release (... I was lucky enough to find the 1976's "The Amazing Dobermans", years before it appeared in print), Turner Classic Movies has been known to show 'Doberman' movies, from time to time, and I duped them all, from the broadcasts ... ... with no official release date on the site, for any of the films in the series, I might just end up moving my Copies DVD-R ... (Edit) ... very interesting site you provided, I suspect that most of the movies that these folks are dedicated to DVD, broadcast probably dupes, or even dupes from out-of-print VHS tapes. High profile movies (... even those that are treated as 'forgotten', such as those on the website ...), which do not seen release on DVD, videotape or even, sorta fall into a gray area, or under the radar, as far as legality, purchase items from a site like this, should get you into any trouble. However, as the old saying goes, "Caveat emptor", or "let the buyer beware", be sure to get the idea of quality, or even the playability of the titles on this site. Be also aware that the title of the film unceremoniously fall in and out of the public domain; I'm no longer surprised at how even the rarest of films, I would have never suspected to get released on DVD, actually make their way There ...
