Training Rottweiler Puppies – Click Click Boom!
Want to be successful at training Rottweiler puppies? Okay here's my first tip and a really good one I might add. ..
Now, while training your Rottweiler, play the song "Click Click Boom" by rock band Saliva and you're sure to get excellent results!
I'm sorry! I'm sorry! That's not going to work – obviously…
I reckon training Rottweiler puppies while listening to that song would actually cause problems. You might just scare the puppies away!
However, I like the song and the title is relevant (somewhat) to the training methods which I'm about to share with you …
You know, I had a rough time training my Rottweiler puppy Marnop. I had tried all kinds of training methods but they never worked for Marnop until I discovered clicker training.
Yes…Click, click, boom my friend because this training method has been so effective!
Now listen closely, if you want to effectively clicker train your Rottweiler puppies – make them understand all sorts of obedience commands, House Training, leash training etc, try using the methods below.
In fact, you can even teach your dog some fancy tricks with these clicker tactics!
Effective Clicker Charging
The Rottweiler has decent temperament. They are naturally quite obedient and eager to work (my Marnop is a bit slow but hardworking!). Now before you begin the training program for the day, you should charge the clicker first. Here's how:
(1) Put some treats near your feet. When your puppy approaches the treat and eats them, you click the clicker. Remember to click for every treat consumed.
(2) Go to another part of your house repeat the above process.
(3) This time you need to take out the treats from your pocket/pouch bag and present each one to your Rottweiler puppy. Click and then give it to him. Repeat the above process 3 more times.
Clicking Precision
Be precise with your clicks as this would help shape new behaviors in your puppy a lot faster. If you don't click accurately, then your puppy would start responding to your hand movement (reaching into your pocket).
Our objective here is to ensure the puppy responds to the sound of the click.
If the clicker charging process is done correctly, training Rottweiler puppies' new actions and behaviors would be a lot easier.
