Do K9 dogs that work with the police get a paycheck?

I was just wandering, I know that they are considered part of the police force, but just wandering if they get paid as if they were working like humans do. If so, do they make as much money as a regular officer? Who is the check written to? AND can you tell me how you know your answer? (link, K9 officer, etc.)

K9s do not get paid. Their handlers do not get extra money (well here anyway).
If you want, you can consider the food, vet bills and kennel the department pays for as pay.
In Canada, k9s are not considered officers. You cannot be charged with assaulting a Police officer for hurting the dog.
