My border collie is a great hunt pheasant or rabbit and ignore me. How can I stop this? Help!?
He came to me at 6 months old, very well trained. Although nervous of so many men I'm not sure how her male coach got results. It was leash in the fields, but all that went out the window when a female in heat has passed, so he ran away from me and seemed to realize his freedom. Im uncertain times, he sees me as the leader pack. Im working on. He is now a year and really well until distracted by pheasants etc. I have him on a very Long lead training moment.Is it possible to take the instinct to chase the dog, and if so how? Any ideas anyone?
Border Collie Dogs are great i have always they have a natural instinct to chase and round up.They are much easier to train when they reach about two years, but they always tend to keep their minds own.If you want a lapdog, then a border is not the best choice they have masses of energy and needs lots of luck and mental challenge.good exercise and try to change his natural instinct to give him much of the year pursuit of a ball occupy.
