For owners of Saint Bernard in here?
I have a male and female Saint Bernard who were both over a year old. I still feed them puppy food. They say they are not fully grown until about 3 so i think they should be on puppy food until then. Any opinions?
Saint-owner here! ... If they are both within a year, do not feed them puppy food anymore. The other answers are correct who said they are growing very fast. Holy grow so fast as it is and keeping them on puppy food will add to that. This can cause serious growing pains and other problems in the future. Saints reach their height around 1 1 / 2 years, it is their girth and bulk that comes after, closer to age 3. Just put them in a quality adult food and feed for their current weight. I know most of Saint-owners who want their dog to get as big as they possibly can and quickly. But, because they are so easy prone to hip dysplasia and such, it is always best not to let them get overweight. The Saint is also a leaner living. Good luck with your 2 beauties!
